TWO Melksham town councillors have launched a podcast, exploring the positive work happening around the town by community groups and individuals.

The podcast, Celebrate Melksham, is organised and hosted by cllr Carl Houghton and cllr Tom Price with the aim of highlighting the good work happening in the community, helping to make Melksham a positive place to live.
Cllr Carl Houghton said, “Celebrate Melksham is designed to use social media and technology to bring positivity into the town. I came up with the idea when thinking about how we can use social media to celebrate some of the wonderful groups we have in our town. Using a digital platform, I hope to help build on the positivity these groups already hold and bring them to a larger audience.”
Working with volunteers to create the podcast, the team plan to speak to representatives from different groups in each episode. Carl said, “With a brilliant group of volunteers, our plan has been to create a local podcast that will release once a month. We will be interviewing local community groups and individuals to help advertise and highlight the great work they do for our amazing town and find out how they help make Melksham a fantastic place to live.”
“Please give us a follow so you can stay up to date with our local podcasts as they release and email info@celebratemelksham.co.uk to reach out if you would like to be a part and support our new local initiative.
“Look out for our first podcast which will be released at the end of September, interviewing Melksham Free Dining’s very own Louisa Lewis.”
