MELKSHAM Seniors group has launched a new website to keep the local 55+ age group up to date on local issues and local events which affect them.
“We are pleased that our new website – www. melkshamseniors.co.uk – is now online,” said chairman Brian Warwick. “It is our intention to keep the website regularly updated and we would appreciate the community’s assistance in providing us with updates and any information from organisations they are associated with, along with photos and reports on any events or projects. They can be sent to us via the website.
“The website is not quite finished; there are still modifications to be made, and we are also seeking comments as to what other information residents would like us to provide.
“Life is getting back to normal after a very busy and successful period of events for local seniors, many of whom have been kept busy looking after grandchildren. Our film showing of Paddington was well received; we shall consider further intergenerational events in the coming months.
“We are still looking for enthusiastic volunteers and a keen administrator.
“Our next activity event is on Monday 3rd October at 1.30pm at the Forest Community Centre. Terri and Ann would be delighted to welcome you. They have some excellent activities in hand for your enjoyment.
“The Film Club meeting on Monday September 19th at the Assembly Hall at 1pm for a 2pm start is showing the very witty and hilarious Golden Globe acclaimed film, ‘Best in Show’, which was described as the funniest film of that year.
“In the coming weeks we shall be providing more important information on other coming events, along with an update on the partnership working following our very successful community day.
“We are also working on our Christmas party, and hopefully we shall again receive good support from businesses in the town and from the public. We are also looking for good entertainers who might like to volunteer their time.
“Please look at www.melkshamseniors.co.uk and send us suggestions for what else you would like to see on the site.”
