DEPUTY Prime Minister Nick Clegg turned a few heads this month when he visited Holt to show support for local parliamentary candidate Duncan Hames.
Former Liberal Democrat MP Duncan Hames, who lives in the village said, “I wanted the Deputy Prime Minister to see that Holt isn’t just a wonderful place to live, but increasingly a place where people are working again in some of the new businesses that are building a stronger economy in our part of Wiltshire.
“I was delighted to have so much support in Holt from my team of volunteers, who we invited to my home to meet Nick.”
Nick Clegg, leader of the Liberal Democrats will be backing Duncan Hames in the upcoming General Election as he campaigns to keep his seat. Duncan Hames will be up against Michelle Donelan (Conservative), Andy Newman (Labour), Tina Johnston (Green), and Julia Reid (UKIP) when the elections take place on Thursday 7th May.
