PUBLIC toilets in the town centre are still currently closed due to the transmission risks of Covid-19.
The toilets, located in the Market Place, are jointly funded by Melksham Town Council and Melksham Without Parish Council.
A spokesperson said, “A risk assessment has been carried out and there needs to be slight amendments made to reflect comments made. Hand sanitiser units and signage are being purchased.
“Our problem is that the toilets have ‘all in one’ soap dispensers/washers/driers and no lids on the toilet pans – both of which are transmission risks for Covid-19. We can close down the washer drier units but can’t solve the problem of the lids.”
