THE Mighty Titans of Bowerhill have revealed their next ‘epic’ charity challenge – a 24-hour workout session.
The team of 26 fitness enthusiasts, who all train at New Era Fitness in Bowerhill, have set themselves a fundraising target of £2,500 for local charity Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
From 12pm on Saturday 21st September, through to 12pm the next day on Sunday 22nd September, the ‘Titans’ will participate in a variety of workouts, including strength training, runs, boxing, Zumba, yoga, cycling, and much more.
Group leader and owner of New Era Fitness, DJ Hussey, told Melksham News, “I cycle past the air ambulance base in Semington every day on my way to work – it’s a great charity, and a vital service that supports our community. And it’s always important to us that we choose a charity that is local. We are hoping to beat our target of £2,500, and we are already off to a great start with over £300 donated in the first couple of days of the fundraising page going live.
“The event itself will primarily take place out of our ‘HQ’ on the Bowerhill Industrial Estate, so people are welcome to come down to support us – bring donuts and coffee!”
The 24-hour workout challenge is the fifth fundraising event organised by the fitness enthusiasts, who last year ran 1,000 miles from Land’s End to John o’Groats in just over six days, raising £20,000 for Wiltshire Mind.
The previous year the group cycled from London to Paris in the space of three days. So far, the group has raised a total of £32,500 for various charities from the four events.
