CHILDREN at a nursery near Melksham dressed up as firefighters during a recent visit from a real member of the fire service.
Daisychain Nursery in Whitley spent a week learning about the emergency services recently, and children enjoyed a special visit from a member of Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Service, who told them all about what to do in the event of a fire.
Nursery leader Rachel Spanswick said, “The children really enjoyed the visit and especially the dressing up.
“We’ve played doctors and nurses and the police brought a car along and turned on the lights and siren, which the children loved.
“Dressing up and playing is the way they learn best so visits like this really engage the children and are a lot of fun for all of us!”
