Obstacles, mud and more mud on offer from Melksham race organisers

A Melksham company is making a name for itself as organisers of a wide range of multi sport events.

DB Max organised the inaugural Melksham 10k at Melksham Town Football Club in June this year.

And that was only one of a growing number of live events that the company organises in the South West and Wales.

DB Max are a race timing and multisport events company based in Commerce Way near the Police Station and they have been organising events across the country since 2006. 

They have an extensive calendar that runs 25 events a year including triathlons, runs, bike time trials and more. This summer the team are celebrating thirteen years in the events organisation industry and 11 years in the sports timing industry. 

They recently organised the inaugural Melksham 10k at Melksham Town Football Club that saw 279 runners take on the ‘fast, flat and friendly’ route that took in sights of the town. 

New to 2019, the team have moved into ‘OCR events’ – races that include obstacles, such as their new event, the ‘Battle of Lansdown’, that saw runners combat obstacles, mud and more mud at its inaugural event back in March.

Following this success they are launching a new event the ‘Mud Nation’ to take place on October 26th this year. This is an inclusive obstacle course at Charlton Park near Malmesbury. 

Will Whitmore, managing director at DB Max said, “We are well known for hosting quality events which our regular participants love. The feedback from our first OCR event was amazing and we are confident that we have now brought our high end organisational skills into the OCR world. 

“Participants at Mud Nation can expect a great bespoke medal, a free finish line beer, fast and accurate results and the superb DB Max event experience. 

“The course will combine familiar obstacles mixed with newer additions and either a 5k or a 10k option. Add to that a kids’ race later in the day for children aged 9-16.

“It has always been our goal to promote a more active lifestyle and healthier living to everyone who enjoys our events and this ethos will be carried through to our Mud Nation event in October.” 

Will is also joined by a team of experienced event organisers and race timers. James Hart is the company’s timing manager who has 10 years of experience providing results for some of the UK’s premier events. James Higgs is event director at many of the company’s events with over 15 years’ experience in the industry.
