MELKSHAM Pet Food Bank is appealing for more donations and for a location in the town centre, to ensure they can continue to help people feed their pets.
The pet food bank was launched last December by local woman Wendy Isaacs, who wanted to help people to feed their pets during the cost-of-living crisis.
Residents can make donations of pet food and items to designated drop-off points around the town that are then given out to pet owners in need. Residents do not need a referral to access support of the food bank or to be receiving benefits. Wendy said, “We help everyone, even if you are working.”
Items can be dropped off in the town centre at Chalkland Vets in Church Street and The Original Factory Shop; other drop-off points around town can be found on the Melksham Pet Food Bank’s Facebook page.
Along with donations, Wendy is urgently seeking an affordable premises in the town centre to operate from. She said this could be a shop share, an annex, or a large back spare room.
