The February exhibition at the Art House Cafe Gallery will consist exclusively of work by several local photographers:
Geoff Hawkins spent all his working life in an art college. Now that he is retired, he is making pictures for himself. He is strictly an unpaid photographer.
For subject matter, he has tried everything from landscapes to kittens, but much prefers photographing people. He is currently in the third year of a project to photograph a different stranger every day.
The rest of the exhibition is displaying work by eight members of Trowbridge Camera Club. The club is very friendly and welcomes both beginners and experienced photographers aged 18 or over. They meet on Thursday evenings from September to April at 7.30pm with an exciting and informative agenda of talks, shows, demonstrations, competitions and practical sessions.
This is the first all-photography exhibition at the Cafe, so come along and see what you think.
Mystery Buyer!
Pattie Lockett, a volunteer at the Art House Cafe said, “We are still searching for the mystery buyer who bought a painting back in September and has not yet come to claim it.
“It was a small wildlife painting entitled ‘Mother and Baby’. If you can tell us the subject of the painting and its price, it is waiting at the cafe for its new owner.”
