PLANS to build over 60 houses, office space, a spa and a cinema at the former tannery in Holt will be revealed at a public exhibition this weekend.
The plans will be on show at the village hall on Saturday 30th January from 10am to 4pm.
Holt Parish Council expects a planning application to be submitted in the coming weeks requesting permission to build 40 homes and commercial space, as well as outline permission for a further 28 homes.
A recent report from the parish council said that no affordable housing is to be included in the plans, because of the cost of the build.
There is set to be 180 parking spaces and facilities for 51 bicycles. A creche, coffee shop, spa and cinema are also expected in the development, which could be completed within five years if planning consent is given.
The former tannery, in the Midlands, is a brownfield site which was once the home of J&T Beaven’s leather factory. It is now partly derelict and is considered to be the only place within the village where major development can take place.
Serious planning for the site has been under way since 2010 following a consultation with villagers.
