LOCALS are being encouraged to support Melksham in this year’s Britain in Bloom competition.
Chair Melksham & District, Senior’s 55+ Forum, Brian Warwick said, “Melksham did remarkably well last year in Britain in Bloom so this year Melksham Seniors are calling for far better support from the community and particularly businesses in the town to help promote the town by adopting a far higher profile by helping to improve our environment along with their own buildings, hopefully ensuring they are appropriately dressed with a lovely floral display. Our Chamber of Commerce and Chamber of Trade provide excellent support but are often let down by national businesses that trade in our community, it is time for a change.
“We want them to set a great example of their support for our community and customers. We shall be delighted to publish the best floral display’s on our web site, perhaps also along with pictures of those who deserve a wooden spoon for lack of support to Melksham in Bloom, if that is what your people would like. We would welcome their views.”
