THERE is still time to take part in Holt Pre-school’s ‘100 Promises’ auction, helping them raise money towards construction of a new building.
The online auction, which has been inspired by the Captain Tom Foundation and the ‘Captain Tom 100’ fundraising campaign, closes this Sunday, 16th May, at 4pm.
About the ‘100 Promises’ that have been donated to the auction by local people and businesses, the pre-school says, “The list is wonderfully varied; from pony rides to hot air balloon rides, babysitting to lawn-mowing, holiday cottages to stay in and even a live Q&A with rugby legend Lewis Moody! With 100 lots to choose from and with bids starting at £1 there truly is something for everyone!”
About why they are raising money, the pre-school said, “Holt Pre-school is badly in need of a new building. Should we fail to raise the necessary funds to replace the current structure, Holt will soon be without a pre-school – a tragic loss as it is so integral to the village community and serves a vital childcare role for many families.
“Having been awarded a number of grants and thanks to support so far, we are now at 75% of the target. Please help us with this final push for the remaining £45,000 needed.
“Thank you again for all you have done to support the pre-school, it means so much to the staff, parents and children alike. We are determined to save our amazing Holt Pre-school and we hope you will join in the fun and enjoy this fantastic auction. Happy bidding!”
