A NEW pop-up coffee shop was launched in Bowerhill last month, and will be back on 15th February.
Core Church launched ‘Coffee On The Way’ in Bowerhill Village Hall on Wednesday 18th January.
The hall was transformed into high-street-style coffee house and sold Fair Trade espresso coffee, hot chocolate, speciality teas, soft drinks, cakes, light lunches and snacks.
Organiser Chris Sealy said, “Around forty people came and enjoyed the cosy ambience and a launch-day complimentary hot drink. They were generous with their praise for the quality of the drinks and food, and thought the prices offered value for money. The hot chocolate was particularly popular with younger people and those young at heart. It is very competitively priced from £1 for a regular mug. Coffee On The Way is a social enterprise and all the staff are volunteers who want to provide a friendly, quality service to the community.”
The coffee shop will be open from 8.30am to 4pm on the first, third and fifth Wednesday of every month – the next sessions will be on 15th February then 1st March. For more information email info@ corechurch.co.uk.
Chris added, “Bowerhill residents and those who work in the area can arrange to meet with friends or just sit and enjoy a few moments me-time. There is a play area for toddlers and parents are encouraged to drop in as part of the school run.”
