Finnegan’s Wake, fresh from a sell-out show at Westbury Festival, will be playing at the Melksham Conservative Club on Saturday 1st October.
The gig will be in aid of the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust, and doors will open at 7.30pm, with music to start at 8pm.
Westbury resident and canal trust volunteer, Malcolm Hitchinson said, “We are really pleased that Frank and Mick have agreed to play for us again. Last time they were really popular and many people were inspired to get up and dance!
“They play a lively mixture of jigs and reels plus many traditional Irish folk songs, which we can all join in. They also have a line of witty Irish banter, all of which has audiences chuckling and tapping their feet in equal measure.
“Band members Frank Hackett on accordion and Mick Franks on guitar have been playing together for over six years after starting through a shared love of traditional Irish music and songs.
“All profits raised from this event will go towards the maintenance and restoration work of the Trust.”
Tickets cost £8 each and can be purchased at the Conservative Club, the Tourist Information Centre, or reserved from Malcolm Hitchinson on 07595 833297 or by email malcolm.hitchinson@wbct.org.uk
A bar will be available in the club, which is on Bank Street. Parking is in the Church Street car park.
