Shaw and Whitley Pre-School are helping Shaw Church with their appeal to replace thousands of oak shingles on the spire of the grade II listed church by donating money to buy 24 shingles, one for each child registered at the pre-school.
The children have each been given a shingle to decorate and had their name added.
The committee and staff said, “As part of the community, we felt it was important to support this appeal, especially since we have strong ties with the church and take all the children down to celebrate Harvest Festival and at Easter, the pre-school make an Easter garden inside the church.”
