A vibrant culture festival was held at a local primary school recently to celebrate diversity and showcase the rich heritage of its pupils.
Children from Aloeric Primary School created posters showcasing their faiths, cultures, languages, heritage and family backgrounds.
The posters were displayed by continent, giving pupils the opportunity to explore and learn about countries from around the world. Equipped with their own passports, children travelled through the displays, collecting stamps as they discovered more about each nation.
Headteacher Chris Mullins said, “As a Gold Rights Respecting School, Aloeric School was proud to celebrate the rich diversity of its community. Many pupils proudly wore traditional clothing, adding even more colour and excitement to the event. The day concluded with the whole school coming together to wave individual flags representing their heritage and celebrate the diversity that makes the Aloeric community so special. Performances included a lively Chinese Dragon Dance by Reception and a vibrant carnival dance by Year 4.
“The festival was a wonderful celebration of inclusion, respect and understanding and a fantastic day enjoyed by pupils, staff and families alike.”
