SEMINGTON’S primary school, St George’s, has received a ‘Gold Award’ for its care of the physical and mental wellbeing of its staff during the coronavirus outbreak.
The school reports, “We have been very busy during lockdown with the keyworker children, transforming part of the school grounds into a wildlife area, and the year R, 1 and 6 pupils have been welcomed back very safely and successfully.
“Also, our head of school, Emma Groom, has been working non-stop to ensure the school is running well and that all members of staff, pupil and pupils parents are safe and well.
“Mental health and wellbeing has been a huge focus and Emma and her team at St George’s have been recognised for this by being one of 99 schools in Wiltshire to be awarded a ‘Teach Well School Gold Award’ for taking care of the physical and mental wellbeing of staff during the coronavirus outbreak.
“Every member of staff at St George’s is so impressed with Emma and the senior leadership team for this and the whole team, for continuing this to the pupils and parents.”
