Pupils lace up shoes for sponsored walk

Children at a village primary school raised more than £1,700 in a sponsored walk to help create a new garden space and outdoor learning area.

Key Stage 1 children at Seend Primary School completed a 2.5-mile walk, while older pupils took on a five-mile route.

Pupil Services Officer Amy Lacey said, “The walk provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone to enjoy the outdoors, take in the beautiful scenery along the canal and spend time together as a school community. We were especially grateful for the fantastic support from our parents, carers and family members who joined us on the walk. Their willingness to give their time and share in the experience helped to make the day even more enjoyable and memorable for the children.

“The money raised will go towards creating our new garden space and outdoor area, providing a beautiful outdoor environment where our pupils can learn, explore, play and connect with nature for years to come.”

Assistant Headteacher Holly Chivers said, “A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored and cheered them on throughout the day. We are so proud of every pupil who took part.”
