Pupils at a local primary school have been learning about life in Parliament when they were visited by local MP Brian Mathew.
The MP for Melksham and Devizes visited pupils at St Mary’s Primary School in Broughton Gifford during Parliament Week. Brian was interviewed by the school council about his role as a member of Parliament and serving the local community.
A spokesperson for the school Charlotte Godsiffe, said, “Brian gave some insightful and thought-provoking answers and ideas to carry forward in their own roles as school councillors and beyond.
“We were immensely proud of them for displaying our school values and questioning him so eloquently and respectfully. It was a brilliant opportunity for our pupils to learn about politics, government and democracy.”
