PUPILS from a Melksham primary school sang in front of 10,000 people at a Young Voices concert last week.
30 River Mead pupils took part in Young Voices 2017 on Tuesday 24th January, when they joined over 6,600 primary school pupils from across the UK to sing a variety of songs at the Genting Arena in Birmingham.
Head of the school, Nicki Henderson said, “Performing in front of a crowd of over 10,000 spectators was a fantastic experience for the children, who all loved their day.
“The late night and tired eyes the next day were well worth such a brilliant trip. We are hugely proud of our children; their maturity shone through and they were excellent representatives of River Mead School.”
The Mead Academy Trust’s senior teacher for music, Mrs Dixon said, “The pupils’ enthusiasm and love of singing shone through the whole day and it was a privilege to take so many children to take part in this wonderful event.”
