Pupils from Bowerhill Primary School were part of the world’s largest children’s choir recently, when they took part in Young Voices 2025.
The whole of Year 5 travelled to the NEC arena in Birmingham last month for the annual event, which brings together thousands of children from across the UK to perform in large arenas to inspire children to love music and build confidence.
Headteacher Chris Light said, “The school has been attending for a number of years but more recently has taken the decision to include every child rather than taking a choir of children who volunteer. This is the second year that Bowerhill Primary School has taken a whole cohort of children based on the success of the previous year and the amazing memories of the children who would not normally volunteer to be a part of a choir.
“We have a ‘7 in 7’ programme to support our children’s personal development. As part of this programme, we want all of our children to perform on a stage and represent the school. Young Voices hit both of these objectives and is a vital part of supporting our children’s development outside of the classroom. The children represented the school brilliantly as they performed to a paying audience of over 5,000 people.”
