A GROUP of volunteers from West Wiltshire Ramblers have improved a footpath in Holt. Working with the rights of way department of Wiltshire Council, the team removed an old stile and cleared the pathway to improve access.
Dave Yearsley, who leads the volunteers said, “The footpath, off Leigh Road, was difficult to access and our task was to make it easier to use and generally more inviting.
“Wiltshire is fortunate in having almost 4,000 miles of footpaths. This is a tremendous resource, but it needs maintaining so that people can continue to have access to the countryside.”
West Wiltshire Ramblers walk locally every Sunday and Wednesday throughout the year – details of the walk programme can be found at www.ramblers.org.uk/west-wiltshire.
