Read Easy Melksham, which will be five years old next April, is looking for a new volunteer to lead its management team.
The local affiliated group has helped more than 30 adults with their reading and they say, “As you can imagine, learning to read is life transforming!
“Currently, the team consists of eight members who perform a number of different roles including treasurer and secretary. Their task is to support and facilitate the activities of the front-line volunteers, the coaches and coordinators.
“The leader is responsible for providing the management team with strong leadership and a clear sense of direction, and for ensuring that every member of the group is enabled and encouraged to play their part effectively. They also advise, support and oversee the activities of the two coordinators to ensure that an excellent service is delivered. They also need to help to make volunteering fun!
“If you are interested in volunteering for this rewarding role, and would like to know more about it, please contact the current leader, David Williams, for an informal initial discussion. Tel 07939 556541 melksham@readeasy.org.uk
The successful candidate will shadow David for a while and then take over as leader in 2020.
