THE library at Forest & Sandridge CE Primary School has been refurbished after fundraising by Forest Friends, the school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA).
£250 of new books were also provided by Melksham Lions Club, following similar support they have provided to other schools in the town.
The school’s vice principal, James Mead said, “Forest Friends continually do an absolutely fantastic job at raising money for our lovely school! They have invested a huge amount of money to completely revamp the library which looks absolutely amazing and a real focus point when you enter our school. The library will provide an enriching learning space and experience for so many children, for years to come! They truly are a great bunch of parents. A big thank you to them and to everyone who supports our Forest events.”
Paul Carter from Melksham Lion’s Club said, “Last year Aloeric Primary School put in a request to Melksham Lions for some money towards new books. We duly obliged and thought of extending this offer to the other primaries in Melksham. Books to the value of £250 were donated to those that accepted our offer. In the case of Forest & Sandridge, it coincided with the opening of their new library area.
“If you are interested in joining our charitable fundraising group, we meet every second Monday at 7:30 in the Kings Arms or look out for us fundraising at various events around town.”
