THERE’S an exciting line-up planned for the weeks ahead at Melksham’s Assembly Hall with a night of reggae music, a celebration of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and the UK’s No.1 Dolly Parton tribute act.
On Friday 1st July, the Assembly Hall will be celebrating the ‘International day of Reggae’ with One Love Reggae Night! featuring three of the finest and very best veteran Reggae DJ’s on the circuit: DJ Mister M, Rubba Ranx and Super T.
Organisers say, “Expect a special night of total reggae niceness, and to hear classic reggae from back in the day including Jamaican Ska, Studio One, the finest in old and new reggae and ragga, all in a one love deadly combination. This is a big people dance, over 25’s only. Dress to impress!”
On Friday 8th July, December ’63: O What a Night!’ – a celebration of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons – comes to the venue.
Organisers say, “Formerly known as The New Jersey Boys, this ever-popular celebration of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons may have a new name but retains everything audiences have come to love about this sensational show.
“Back by overwhelming public demand, the hit show continues to play to sell-out audiences and standing ovations throughout the UK. Featuring the amazing falsetto voice of Einar Vestman and the humour of all round entertainer Gary Gould, the packed two set programme guarantees an evening of superb harmonies, stunning solo spots and light comedy. As well as hits from the Four Seasons, the choreographed show includes tributes to other legendary performers. An unmissable entertainment for which early booking is recommended.”
Tribute act, Dolly Parton – The Rags to Rhinestones Story, comes to Melksham on Saturday 9th July.
Organisers say, “The Rags to Rhinestones Story is a dynamic, high energy theatre production that is widely accepted as the foremost tribute to Dolly Parton. It is performed by the award-winning Julia Martin, and has been delivered to audiences around the world, with standing ovations on every occasion. In both 2018 and 2019 Julia was presented with the accolade of the UK’s No.1 Dolly Parton tribute by the National Tribute Music Awards (NTMA). The show has been described by audiences as totally authentic in every way, and not only captures Dolly’s incredible stage presence, mannerisms, charisma, and unique comedy one-liners, but also delivers a spectacular evening of entertainment, that no true Dolly fan will want to miss.

Also coming up in the months ahead is the Melksham Record Fair on Saturday 16th July, the Assembly Hall Film Club on Friday 29th July, with a screening of John Carpenter’s sci-fi horror, ‘The Thing’; and on Friday 16th September, Dire Straits tribute band dS:uK.
