THE Round House, a Grade II listed building in the heart of Melksham town centre, is due to undergo repairs after Wiltshire Council approved a planning application for the works to start.
The application, approved earlier this month, says the urgent pointing work and stabilisation will be carried out to maintain the historic appearance and integrity of the Round House, in Church Street, which was built in the 18th century.
Initially a wool-drying room, the Round House has had many uses over the years from being the Tourist Information Centre to the now Community Larder and Community Wardrobe.
The planning application can be seen on Wiltshire Council’s planning portal via the following reference number PL/2023/09269.
