A GROUP has been officially formed to support the ongoing development and maintenence of ‘Shurnhold Fields’ – a new mini country park on the site of the former George Ward School playing fields.
‘Friends of Shurnhold Fields’ committee is made up of local residents and will be chaired by Roy Dobson.
Clerk for Melksham Without Parish Council, Teresa Strange said, “The parish and town council are delighted at the interest and response from the local community on this project and plan to provide a representative from each council on the committee too.
“The project is on track with WW1 commemorative trees on order for planting on Saturday 10th November and the legal transfer progressing, with the land being transferred from Persimmon to Melksham Without Parish Council (but jointly managed with the town council).
