RESIDENTS in Shaw have a unique chance to help shape the future of the village park.
Michelle Tattersall and Mark Ashkowski will represent the residents as their voice in Shaw and work closely with Melksham Without Parish Council to decide on improvements to the park from a residents’ perspective.
Michelle Tattersall said, “Our local council is hoping to allocate funds to invest in new benches, new play equipment and other enhancements. The amount of money available is to be confirmed in the next few months. In the meantime, we will be working with the council as resident representatives to give the residents voice on how to redevelop the play area and the park. Options we are looking into include new play equipment, more play equipment for older children, a fitness trail, and other facilities for us all to enjoy.
“We would like as many people as possible to be involved in the redevelopment decisions, working together to create a fantastic space for all the community to enjoy. In the first instance, the council hopes to secure funding for four new picnic benches, and for three new bench seats.”
The Shaw play park resident representatives are asking for views on the future of the play area. Questionnaires will be posted through doors and be available online at www.myenvolve.com/project/ shawparkbenches with a closing date of 19th December.
