With the weather finally looking a little more like summer, minds start to turn to picnics and Pimm’s, long evenings watching the dusk fall, and an outdoor play.
And not just any outdoor play! In their 31st season, Shakespeare Live are past masters at providing a fantastic experience, from the easy parking, the beautiful gardens, perfect for picnics, and the large and comfortable tiered covered stand, through to the main event – a stunning production of one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays, ‘Romeo & Juliet’.
Set unusually and highly effectively in mid-Victorian London, this show is promising to be one of the best the company has ever produced. Tickets are selling well, with over half gone for some evenings, including Saturday’s Gala with extra entertainment – dancers, music and Morris Men – before the show.
Performances at Cleeve House, Seend, SN12 6PG, are at 8pm from Monday 8th to Saturday 13th July, as well as a Saturday matinee at 2pm. Tickets are between £10 and £22.50 from www. shakespearelive.com.
