THE Melksham Rotary Club has raised £256 for people affected by Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean and the recent earthquake in Mexico.
At the end of September, representatives from the club collected the money at Sainsbury’s for the charity ShelterBox, who provide support to families affected by disaster across the world.
Rotarian Janet Relfe said, “We spent a few hours in the entrance to Sainsbury’s Melksham, collecting for Rotary’s appeal on behalf of Shelterbox, to supply more survival boxes to those affected by Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean and the earthquake in Mexico.
“Thanks for Sainsbury’s for allowing us the space, Judy, Terri and Verly who helped collect and to all those who gave generously. We raised £256.”
