MELKSHAM Neighbourhood Policing Team are appealing for information after the town centre was hit by a spate of graffiti.
The graffiti appeared at some point between Saturday 16th August at 5pm and the early hours on Monday 18th August and has been found on several buildings including Tops Hair Salon, Co-Operative travel and Lloyds bank. More was also found on a pillar by the entrance to Place Road.
CCTV is being gathered and so far one image appears to show a white male, between 5ft 8” and 6ft in dark clothing in the early hours on Monday 18th August acting suspiciously. Additional CCTV is being gathered and it is hoped an image of the suspect will be circulated soon.
Kane Fulbrook-Smith the community beat manager for Melksham said, “This will not be tolerated. In Melksham we are quite fortunate that we don’t have a graffiti problem so we will do all we can to catch who is responsible before even more of our town is defaced. Graffiti is a crime and something we take very seriously so I urge anyone with information to contact Wiltshire Police on 101.
“Whoever is responsible for this is advised to come forward and they can do so again by calling 101.”
