The Parish Council Allotments are one of only three allotments in the whole country to have been selected by the Royal Horticultural Society Vegetable, Fruit and Herb Committee for a free onsite tour.
On the afternoon of Wednesday 24th June, between 2.30pm – 4.30pm the committee will visit both allotment gardens in Berryfield to chat to the plot holders to give them tips and advice. The RHS committee includes experts on all aspects of growing edible crops and they will be sharing their years of experience and knowledge on all aspects of crop husbandry.
At 7.30pm there will be a ‘Gardeners’ Question Time’ at the Assembly Rooms in Melksham. This is a free event open to all, being hosted in conjunction with the Town Council and Melksham Gardeners’ Society, where the panel of RHS experts will try to answer any questions relating to the growing of crops, fruit and herbs.
Additionally one of the committee is also a Britain in Bloom judge and will be happy to answer questions and give advice on the forthcoming competition.
There will be the opportunity to ask questions from the floor, however if you don’t want to stand up and ask on the evening but wish to have a question answered, then please contact either the Parish Council on 01225 705700, office@melkshamwith out.co.uk or the Town Council on 01225 704187, townhall@melksham town.co.uk with your query by Friday 19th June.
