Melksham got off to a searing start at the weekend against visitors Supermarine.
With the dominant home pack providing a good platform and territory, the backs were able to capitalise with three tries in the first 15 minutes by winger Ben Brown showing his pace and power down the touch line bagging his hat-trick. Fly half Callum Hurn adding the extra points.
Melksham pressure continued to dominate backing up the visitors to their five-meter line with the forwards hammering at the defence, the ball then whipped out to Callum Hurn stepping the defenders and scoring his try under the posts taking the team to a bonus point lead, then converting his own score.
The home team continue to run riot and quick hands out to Cameron Bull resulted in another try. In the dying minutes of the first half the pack forced the team over the try line for ball carrier Aaron Brailey to touchdown. Hurn adding the extras.
The half time chat from the Supermarine coaches resulted in them climbing back into the game hammering away at the Melksham defence but still coming away without any points.
The final quarter saw the home team re-taking their advantage, Callum Gillard powering over the line with defenders hanging off him. Gareth Evans making his return from the bench scored running down the wing and cutting in under the posts. Adam Davies slotting the uprights for the extra points.
