Second trophy for Melksham speaker!

Following success in winning the evaluation competition held during the regional conference in Cardiff earlier in April, Sheila Jackson was invited to compete at the Association of Speakers’ Clubs’ National Conference in York on the 29th April.

Sheila competed against other speakers from around the UK in presenting an evaluation of a speech given by another person. Judges give marks on the evaluation based on the speaker observing accurately the strengths and points for improvement of the speech being observed and constructing a concise yet thorough evaluation speech with limited preparation time. There was a high standard to contend with, however Sheila was successful in being judged as the runner-up. gaining another trophy shield that has returned with Sheila to Melksham for the next 12 months.
