AS part of a feasibility study, the Melksham community is being asked to share their views on the best way to give the Assembly Hall a new lease of life.
In August, Melksham Town Council appointed an architect to conduct a feasibility study, to assess the practicalities of re-designing the existing building or the possibility of building a new Assembly Hall on the site.
As part of the research, opinions are being sought from the town via an online survey and public meetings to be held later this month.
Deputy town clerk, Clare Harris said, “Melksham Town Council would like to understand how the Assembly Hall could be improved to increase the community’s enjoyment of this valuable asset. We want to hear your thoughts. We have created an online survey, which can also be found on the Melksham Town Council website, and through our Facebook and Twitter pages. Paper copies of the survey are available at the Assembly Hall and Town Hall.
“We are also holding two public meetings on Thursday 30th November at the Assembly Hall. A morning tea will be held at 10.30am, and an evening meeting at 7.30pm, with members of the town council and CaSA Architects who are helping to develop the brief. All are welcome.
“Community feedback will help us create a brief for the improvement works. Melksham Town Council looks forward to hearing your thoughts.”
