Melksham Comic-Con will hold its first ever art competitions at this year’s event, and attendees are invited to come along and test their skills.
On Saturday 30th August ‘under 16s’ will be able to come along on a drop-in basis from 2pm-5pm, and entrants are invited to bring their own art supplies or use those provided. Colouring-in sheets will be available for the very young, and the rest will have a few ideas provided for inspiration, and will be encouraged to let their imaginations run wild.
Sunday’s competition will be set up differently, taking the form of hourly sessions between 11am and 4pm (maximum 15 entrants per session on a first come, first served basis, 11 years and up). Entrants for these sessions will be given a short brief, and will then have half an hour to produce their interpretation.
All of the art produced over the weekend will be on display in Melksham Library for two weeks after the convention, and will also be displayed on the Melksham Comic-Con website for a whole lot longer. Three winners will be announced from each category, and they will each receive a box of goodies. The winners will be announced via Melksham Comic-Con’s social media pages within a week of the convention.
For more information, see www.melkshamcomiccon.com or their Facebook page. Tickets for the convention are now available from Komix, or from the convention website.
