WITH the clocks going forward to summer time and the sun coming out, Melksham community choir, Macapello say, “One of the very best things you can do for Health and Happiness is sing! – and it’s even better with other people!
“A community choir means; no auditions; everyone is welcome regardless of age, experience or ability; no need to learn from music – everything is taught by ear and the emphasis is very much on fun and fulfilment – you’ll be made very welcome from the outset. No previous singing experience is necessary and the songs are easy to learn and great to sing and before long, you’ll be singing in glorious four-part harmony – really uplifting, and tremendously good for you!
“We have such fun, meeting lots of new people and sharing in the joy of singing. We sing all kinds of things – pop, folksongs, showstoppers, songs from around the world, and I always come away feeling uplifted’. Macapello, now in its seventh year in Melksham, has around 25 regular members, men and women, with new members always welcome, singing acappella (unaccompanied), in harmony.
“Macapello give three or four performances every year, raising money for charity, singing for the residents of local care homes, giving carol concerts and singing at public functions, and this summer we’ll be entertaining the crowds at the Food Festival in August.
“We meet every Wednesday evening in termtime. If you’re interested in singing with Macapello, find out more from Dave by emailing dave.sound world@ gmail.com or texting 07849 060243, go to www. macapello.co.uk or just come along to Macapello’s next session on Wednesday May 1st at 7.30pm, the Baptist Church in Old Broughton Road – your first session is free!”
