The Splash Pad at King George V Park has reopened after repairs were carried out to the new flooring installed earlier this year.
Melksham Town Council closed the site on 5th June following an inspection that revealed the flooring was lifting, creating a safety hazard for users.
The splash pad originally opened in the park in August 2019. After last summer’s season, the council announced it would undergo an ‘extensive makeover’, including a full resurface and removal of the rocks to create a fully level, obstacle-free play area.
The new flooring was installed earlier this year by Splash, a company specialising in custom splash pads and interactive water play features, at a cost of £18,145.
The council confirmed that the flooring repairs are being carried out under warranty from the original installation.
Repair works began on Tuesday 10th June, with the splash pad reopening as soon as the work was completed.
