Melksham Town Football Club has renamed one of its stands in memory of club stalwart Mick Perrin who died earlier this year.
The club officially unveiled the Mick Perrin Stand in a special ceremony on Saturday 29th August which would have been Mick’s 80th birthday.
The club said, “We were delighted to welcome the Perrin family to the Meads Of Melksham Community Football Stadium yesterday. The Mick Perrin Stand will continue to extend Mick’s legacy at the club he held so dear and close to his heart.”
Mick died in February following more than six decades of service to Melksham Town as a player, secretary, chairman and joint president.
He began his connection with the club as a youth player before serving 15 years as secretary and a further 15 as chairman, later becoming joint president alongside close friend Dave Phillips.
Last year, he received the British Empire Medal in the New Year Honours in recognition of his outstanding dedication to grassroots football and the local community.
