Melksham United Church is once again inviting you to share with them in the spirit of Christmas as two popular events feature in the church calendar.
On Saturday 19th November 10am – 12noon, the Autumn Bazaar provides an opportunity to meet friends, have a coffee and chat and also do some Christmas shopping amidst the many items on sale.
Organiser Margaret Henry says, “These fund-raising events are always great fun, meeting and chatting with friends over a cuppa. We do hope you will find something that takes your fancy among our many stalls. We shall have cakes, books, greeting cards, craft, jewellery, and a White Elephant stall. There will be a toys and books stall, an activity table and a competition for the children.
“Our very popular preserves stall will include home-made bramble jelly, marmalade, and pickles. There will also be sweetie jars for the children on this stall. Our busy knitter has produced a large number of baby clothes which will be included on the craft stall.
“There will be a raffle and refreshments provided – tea/coffee and biscuits £1, and no entry fee. All proceeds to our development fund. Do come along with your friends and enjoy the morning with us.”
Then on Saturday 26th November at 7pm, the Chippenham Male Voice Choir is once again promising to start your traditional Christmas celebrations with an evening of song, promising to appeal to all ages and musical tastes. Their membership is in excess of 50 with menfolk coming from all parts of the Wiltshire county – a testament to the dedication this popular choir creates. Making a welcome return to Melksham United Church, they promise an evening rich in voices and good humour guaranteed.
Tickets are £5 and available from the Melksham Tourist Information Centre or call 709473.
