MONTHLY ballroom dancing sessions are to start in Melksham next week to raise money for a local cause.
The event has been organised by local woman, Sue Mortimer, who used to host a similar event at Melksham House before it was closed down.
Music will be provided by Sharon Wilshire. Anyone who enjoys ballroom dancing, is missing their weekly fix of Strictly Come Dancing, or just wants to come and enjoy the music, is welcome to attend.
Money raised from the ballroom dancing session will go towards Sue’s campaign to relaunch the Melksham Lunch Club, which was closed by Wiltshire Council last month.
Sue hopes to relaunch the service as ‘Melksham Community Meals’, focussing on reaching out to vulnerable older people in the community who may be struggling with isolation.
The ballroom dancing session will be held on Saturday 12th January at the Conservative Club on Bank Street (SN12 6LE). Doors open at 7.30pm for a 8pm start. Entry costs £5.
