Bowerhill Cubs and Scouts have been active recently raising funds for equipment and for local charities and have also had a very successful and active 2013 with camps, hikes and activities.
Scout leader Frank Alford reports, “The Cubs and Scouts have raised substantial amounts with bag packing at Asda Melksham and Sainsburys and hope to donate a cheque for £700 to the Dorothy House Hospice and charity and further cheques towards the Christmas day dinners and provisions put on at the Assembly Hall by the Core Church.
“The Scouts group wish to thank Asda and Sainsburys for their help and the people of Melksham for their support at bag packing.
“During the summer and autumn the group had a successful camp at Seend Park Farm and the Scouts enjoyed hikes in Dorset along the coastal path from Hengisbury Head to Mudeford and six miles around Portland Bill, plus other camps and activities and survival camps.
“Bowerhill Scouts Group meet at the village hall, Beavers Tuesdays, Cub Scouts Thursdays, Scouts and Explorer Scouts Fridays 7.00pm-9.00pm. New members welcome.”
