POLICE are asking the public to report any suspicious activity caused by strangers knocking on doors asking for access, following a recent incident in Bowerhill.
Inspector Gill Hughes said, “On 19th October 2021 at 2150 in the Bowerhill, Melksham area, a male and female approached an address asking for access through the address to get to a sewer cover. The resident denied access and the pair left, however on checking with the housing company, confirmed that there was no expected access request.
“The male is described as wearing a hi viz jacket, bobble hat with head torch. No description for the female.
“The matter was rightly reported to police as suspicious. Patrols were carried out, but the pair not located. If you have any concerns with people asking for access to your address, do contact the company they report to be from and if still concerned, contact the police.”
