MELKSHAM Town Council has appointed Peter Baker from NVB Landscapes to design and oversee the proposed improvements at King George V playing field.
An early consultation was led by Peter and attendees were asked what important considerations need to be taken into account when deciding on any changes to the park, and the one thing they would love to see introduced.
The responses were collected by the architect and will help inform the further consultation events which will be taking place in March, to gather ideas, and April, to present their master plan for comment.
This master plan will feature a long-term goal over a time frame of 15 years. The money to complete the full plan is not accessible all at once, so the plans will be utilised as and when funding becomes available.
The town council, as part of their budget for the next financial year, has included the allocation of funds towards the proposed splash pad for the area.
It is estimated that by the summer, there will be a sketched design revealing the main priorities for the park including costs and detailed phasing plan.
