This month’s museum display in the town hall commemorates Victory over Japan Day (VJ Day).
The exhibit features two Melksham residents, Arthur Taylor and Albert Rivers, who fought in the Far East. It includes a short biography of their experiences, with accompanying photos and documents.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, on 15th August, which signalled the end of World War Two in the Pacific following the Japanese surrender to the Allied forces.
