Tuesday 1st November Melksham Town 2 – 0 Bradford Town Saturday 5th November Melksham Town 1 – 1 Larkhall Athletic
Town progressed to the quarter-final of the Wiltshire Premier Shield with a comfortable 2 v 0 win over local rivals Bradford Town on Tuesday 1st November.
In a competitive encounter, Town came out on top with goals from Jay Malshanky and new signing Ben Brooks fresh from his move from Cinderford FC.
On Saturday 5th November the Town were looking to put two disappointed defeats to Lymington Town and Bishop Cleeve behind them against an improving Larkhall Athletic side who Town had beaten earlier in the season in the FA Trophy.
On what was a wet, windy and damp day the Town never really got going in the first half albeit against a strong wind and were behind at the interval to a goal scored by former Melksham player Brad Norris on the stroke of half time.
In the second half the Town dominated the majority of the game and deservedly levelled with a fine strike by Jay Malshanky on 61-minutes. Town looked to get a winner and went close through Luke Ballinger on a couple of occasions but it was not to be and probably over the 90-minutes a draw was a fair result.
“On Saturday 12th November Town are at home to inform Bashley and we urge as many supporters to come and support the team as we look to get back to winning ways in the league,” said club chairman Darren Perrin.
Commenting on the signing of Ben Brooks, manager Richard Fey said “Ben wanted a fresh challenge and has always done well against us and this year so far has 10 goals in 16 games. He is a great signing for the club and we look forward to working with him.
“With Noah Coppin returning to Chippenham from his month loan and Chris Zebroski out injured it was a position we needed to strengthen.”
