MELKSHAM Town Football Club have announced the appointment of Tom Crawford to the role of Youth Chairman.
A statement released by the Board of Directors of Melksham Town said, “Whilst Tom may not be known to many outside of the youth setup, his work over the past three seasons both as a Team and Age Group Manager has been an example to all.
“His organisational and strong communication skills will be an asset to the club in his new role.
“One of Tom’s first challenges in his new position will be to strengthen the Youth Committee, and to this end he will be looking for like minded individuals to join him and take the youth setup forward.
“With 36 Youth Teams and over 450 children this is fantastic opportunity for people to shape and develop the face of youth football in the area for years to come at the Oakfield facility.
“The board wish Tom every success in this new position and trust that managers, coaches and parents alike will support him and the new committee.”
Accepting the role, Tom said, “I’d like to thank the Board of Directors at Melksham Town Football Club for offering me the position of Youth Chairman, an exciting but no doubt challenging role which I can’t wait to take up.
“Looking back, huge credit and thanks must go to Mike Rudd (my predecessor) for all his hard work and achievements over the years, for which has undoubtedly given me a stable foundation to build on.
“One of my very first initiatives will be to resurrect the Youth Committee and address all of the roles and responsibilities that come with running a large, successful youth set-up.
“It is exciting times at the football club and I can’t wait to work alongside all of the fantastic managers, coaches, players and parents involved at the club”.
