MELKSHAM’S next Town Tidy Day will be held on Sunday 9th October. The group will meet outside the Town Hall at 1pm and the event will finish at 3pm.
A spokesperson said, “This is your chance to make a difference in town. Perhaps you are aware of an area that could benefit from a little TLC. Let us know. Even if you are unable to join the ‘gang’ you could pick up locally to home. Every little helps; do join in and keep Melksham tidy.”
Additionally, those emptying hanging baskets are being encouraged to dispose of the compost in the town.
The spokesperson said, “It is approaching time to empty our hanging baskets, even if you do pay Wiltshire Council for a green bin, we are not supposed to put soli or compost in them. But we need the spent compost in town.
“Take your spent compost to the King Street Car Park, there is a long bed at the back which the Bloomers are trying to beautify. The bed has very little depth of soil, so every bit of compost is welcome. Please just tip it on the far-left hand end, adjacent to the houses and it will be spread where it will do the most good.”
