AN eight-piece Trad Jazz Band is coming to Broughton Gifford on Friday 10th November.
The New Academic Feetwarmers, will play New Orleans Style jazz remembering Chris Barber, Acker Bilk, Kenny Ball and the others playing the music of Louis Armstrong, George Lewis and Kid Cry and more. “They dominated the hit parade and the juke boxes of the 1950s and the early ‘60s (until the Beatles took over!)” says Norman Leater, band leader and trumpet player.
“We are the New Academic Feetwarmers – trumpet, trombone, clarinet, soprano sax/tenor sax, banjo, string bass and washboard. We play to packed houses in Frome every month and perform at venues all over including at weddings, parties and birthdays.”
