TRAVELODGE has submitted plans for four electric car charging ports at its Melksham hotel.
Each of the four charging ports can charge two cars simultaneously — resulting in eight charging bays.
The plans, if successful, would result in the construction of a new electricity substation and switchboard at the site.
The planning statement for the bid said, “The proposed charging station will enable connectivity and improve accessibility for EV users within Melksham and the wider area, enabling development and promotion of social and economic convergence and thus, benefiting the local economy.”
